What We Do

College Scholarships

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for local students to obtain scholarships every year. These funds can be used as needed to pay tuition, purchase books, etc. at the college or trade school of their choice.

Key Club Sponsorships

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitates the Key Club meetings, provides mentorship and service opportunities for Key Club students at Eastmont High School. Projects include “Soles4Souls” (repurposing shoes to help support small businesses worldwide), Special Olympics, local outreach to elderly and youth populations. It is a great service and learning opportunity frosted with a good helping of fun.

Kiwanis Builders Club Sponsor

Our Kiwanis club brings in food and treats and recognizes, supports and encourages the kids, through example, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We support Eastmont Junior High Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships.

Third Grade Christmas Party

Each year, Eastmont Kiwanis brings joy to third grade children who might not otherwise experience Christmas festivities. Select students (chosen by their teachers) are brought to lunch with Santa at the Country Inn restaurant. In addition to food, fun, and the chance to tell Santa their secrets, each child is presented with his/her own custom-made fleece blanket and crocheted hat to keep as a cuddly memento of their adventure. Blankets and hats are made by our members as well as our Key Club and Builders Club students.

Community Outreach

We support our community in a variety of ways:

  • For residents of an East Wenatchee Assisted Living Facility, we bring in the fun with monthly bingo (replete with plenty of prizes), individual holiday gifts, and crafted decorations to brighten their days.
  • At the NCW Fair, we serve as ticket-sellers and provide gate control for re-entry.
  • The Pybus Public Market provides us with opportunities to bring crafts and learning activities directly to visiting children–to the delight of wearied parents.
  • Our annual Kids Karnival (a joint effort of all four of our local Kiwanis clubs) provides carnival fun free of charge to nearly 400 children.
